The first ever Las Vegas Grand Prix race — part of the Formula One World Championship tournament — is now just five months away. The highly-anticipated event will be held for the first time on Nov. 18 at a track around the Las Vegas Strip.
To celebrate the inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix event, Caesars Entertainment announced a luxurious dream $5 million (£4 million) that includes a 24/7 butler service and the “Weekends with Adele” concert inside The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.
The $5 million package will also come with a five-night stay inside the Nobu Sky Villa, located in the luxurious Nobu Hotel at Caesars Palace. Those who purchase the package will also have their own personal chauffeur in a Rolls-Royce, special spa services and a private dinner with world-famous Chef Nobu Matsuhisa in the Noby Sky Villa.
With Formula 1 ‘s popularity growing in the United States, F1 fans can go to US online sports betting to get a piece of the action. These top sportsbooks are also offering deals to new customers upon signing up, including a first bet offer of up to $1,000 from BetMGM, a $2,500 risk-free bet from FanDuel, a second chance wager of up to $100 from BetRivers and $200 in bets from DraftKings when you wager $5.
The Las Vegas Grand Prix will be a 3.8-mile circuit and 50-lap race will have a massive race length of just over 190 total miles.
It will also mark a pivotal part of the 2023 Formula One World Championship, as it’s the penultimate race on this year’s calendar. The last race will be the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi on Nov. 26.
Prior to the Las Vegas Grand Prix, the São Paulo Grand Prix will be held at the Interlagos Circuit in São Paulo, Brazil on Nov. 5.
Following this weekend’s Canadian Grand Prix, the next F1 World Championship place will be the Austrian Grand Prix (Red Bull Ring, Spielberg) on July 2. That will be followed by the British Grand Prix seven days later at the Silverstone Circuit in Silverstone.
Max Verstappen (Netherlands) is leading the driver standings with 170 points as he tries to win his third straight championship. Verstappen is followed by Sergio Pérez (Mexico) and Fernando Alonso (Spain) with 117 and 99 points, respectively.
Vegas Continues To Blossom As A Sports City
Las Vegas has hosted plenty of marquee sporting events like boxing matches, UFC bouts and more. But Sin City has started to take off as a booming American sports destination over the past six years.
The NHL’s Vegas Golden Knights just defeated the Florida Panthers in five games to capture their first Stanley Cup championship — six years after they entered the NHL as an expansion franchise for the 2017-18 campaign.
Vegas fans embraced their hockey team right away, constantly selling out T-Mobile Arena even before their team began to take off as a powerhouse. Their immediate passion and energy was rewarded with a trip to the Stanley Cup Final in the Golden Knights’ inaugural season, where they fell to the Washington Capitals in five games.
The success of the Golden Knights was another selling point for the NFL to move a team to Vegas, and that happened in 2020 when Oakland Raiders owner Mark Davis moved the team to Sin City.
The Raiders have endured minimal success since moving to Vegas, qualifying for the postseason in 2021 — just the second time the organization accomplished that feat since the 2003 campaign.
Not to mention that the Raiders’ home venue of Allegiant Stadium — located in Paradise — will host Super Bowl 58 next year.
Before their relocation to Las Vegas in 2018, the Aces’ WNBA franchise was based in San Antonio, where they went by the name “Stars.” The Aces, also owned by Mark Davis, won the franchise’s first championship in 2022.
On top of that, the Oakland Athletics of Major League Baseball are in the process of finalizing plans for a move to Las Vegas. So within about a decade or so, Vegas will have gone from zero professional sports franchises to four.
World Wrestling Entertainment has been hosting more pay-per-view/premium events here since the opening of Allegiant Stadium. And now you have the Las Vegas Grand Prix also taking place in Sin City.
Indeed, it’s a wonderful time to be a sports fan in Las Vegas.
