The album, composed entirely by frontman Robert Smith, returns to the band’s signature dark sound with critical praise for its introspective lyrics and Smith’s haunting vocals. Featuring longtime collaborator Reeves Gabrels on guitar for the first time on an album, Songs of a Lost World has already captivated fans and critics alike. According to the review aggregator Metacritic, Songs of a Lost World received “universal acclaim” based on a weighted average score of 93 out of 100 from 19 critic scores.
