Collaborating with animator Levan Kvanchakhadze and artist Julia Soboleva, Gilmour’s haunting melodies are beautifully matched by vivid, ethereal visuals. Created during the COVID-19 lockdowns, Luck and Strange reflects Gilmour’s journey into fresh creative territory, inspired by livestream performances with his family and a desire to break from the past. With lyrics penned by his wife Polly Samson, the song blends themes of love, aging, and reflection, making it one of Gilmour’s most personal works yet.
