Get ready for a night of unforgettable music and heartfelt purpose at Rock The Halls! This epic concert event will bring together some of the most electrifying independent and emerging artists in the Canadian music scene, all performing under one roof for just $20.
This year’s edition is set for Thursday, November 28, at Maxwell’s in Waterloo, where event founder Avalon Stone and seven other acts will raise their voices in support of mental-health-related causes. On the bill this time are Sky Wallace, The Jailbirds, Feral Minks, A Short Walk to Pluto, Vilivant, Dammit Goldie and The Animal Warfare Act. The setlist for the night will include some of the finest original music on the local scene, plus a few rocked-up arrangements of holiday favorites. The $20 admission (and the proceeds from a silent auction) go to support Canada’s 9-8-8, the national suicide and crisis helpline that was launched one year ago through the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health.
This year’s event also features an ‘Ugggly Holiday’ theme, inviting partygoers to wear their most frightful or fabulous winter-themed outfits to walk the red carpet, complete with volunteer paparazzi with donations going to the cause!
This holiday ‘Warped Tour’ is an unmissable chance to catch rising stars in an intimate setting. Tapping into the nostalgia of a bygone era, when music lovers could see future legends for an affordable price, Rock The Halls delivers that same thrill for just $20.
About Music for Mental Health Canada
Rock The Halls is presented by Music for Mental Health Canada (MFMHC), a nonprofit founded by alt-rocker and Kitchener-Waterloo native Avalon Stone. Inspired by her own success with Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and the pandemic’s global impact on mental health, Avalon launched MFMHC to raise funds and awareness through music. To date, the organization has raised over $7,000 for mental health causes.
With her debut album Chained releasing this winter, Avalon continues to use her music and platform to tackle mental health topics head-on. Now supported by a dedicated team of volunteers, MFMHC organizes impactful events like Rock The Halls, while Avalon recruits talented, like-minded artists to perform. Looking ahead, plans are already underway for a spring event, Rock-Her Road Fest, highlighting female and female-presenting musicians and supporting women’s mental health projects.
