GMINXR, the influential producer behind the global rise of Punjabi-Canadian hip-hop and the sonic architect of hits for artists AP Dhillon and Gurinder Gill, and more, has announced his signing with 91 North Records, the innovative label bridging South Asian music with global audiences. Already recognized for his work on the 2022 breakthrough viral hit “Brown Munde” with AP Dhillon, GMINXR will release his EP HIT LIST on April 18, featuring the lead single “LIFESTYLE,” out now alongside an official music video. Describing the single, GMINXR says “‘LIFESTYLE’ is exactly what it sounds like—it’s me having fun, showing the world my perspective. I’ve spent years producing for the biggest names, and now it’s my turn to step into that spotlight. This single is the first real glimpse into my solo career. I wanted something that reflects my journey—the wins, the grind, and the energy that comes with living this life.”
HIT LIST, a collaboration with Tegi Pannu and Zehr Vibe, further demonstrates his versatility, seamlessly blending genres from ’90s and 2000s hip-hop, pop, UK garage, R&B, and house. The EP is envisioned as a timeless project, solidifying his community’s place in music history and drawing inspiration from classic albums like Kendrick Lamar’s Section.80 and J. Cole’s Born Sinner. HIT LIST represents GMINXR’s commitment to creating music with lasting impact. On making the EP, he explains, “The HIT LIST EP came together naturally. We locked in for a week, just creating with no pressure. Tegi, Zehr Vibe, and I tapped into something fresh, and it all clicked.”
On deciding to work on his solo music he says “After building Run-Up Records and helping AP, Gurinder, and Shinda carve their own lanes, I knew it was time to pour into myself. Producing, directing, editing—I’ve always been behind the scenes, but HIT LIST is me stepping forward, bringing my own vision to life.”
This past weekend, GIMINXR, alongside Zehr Vibe and Tegi, were in Mumbai for an incredible performance at the notable Zomaland festival.
