Musicians around the world use Instagram DMs to stay connected with fans, collaborators, and industry peers every day. Now, Instagram is introducing message translations, new ways to share music, scheduled messages, pinned content, and group chat QR codes—making it even easier for artists to engage with their audience and fellow musicians.
Connect with Fans and Collaborators Worldwide
Staying connected with fans and collaborators across the globe just got easier. With Instagram’s new message translation feature, musicians can communicate effortlessly, breaking down language barriers in their DMs.
Whether responding to a fan in Brazil or coordinating with a producer in Japan, artists can now translate messages directly within their chats, fostering deeper connections and expanding their reach—no matter where their music takes them.

To translate a message in your chat, hold down on the message sent or received in another language and tap “Translate”. The translated message will then appear below the original message in your conversation.

Share Your Latest Music Obsessions with Fans and Collaborators
Sharing music just got even easier for musicians in DMs. Whether promoting a new release, sharing inspiration with a collaborator, or introducing fans to a favorite track, artists can now seamlessly share music without leaving their 1:1 or group chats.
To share a song, simply open the sticker tray in a chat and tap the ‘Music’ option to search the Instagram audio library. Select a track to send a 30-second preview, complete with a spinning vinyl animation of the album—making it a dynamic way to engage listeners and keep the conversation flowing.

Want to remind your bandmates about an early morning soundcheck or ensure a release announcement goes out exactly at midnight? Simply type your message, hold down the send button, select the date and time, and tap “Send” to schedule it. Whether managing a busy schedule or keeping promotional efforts on track, this feature makes staying organized easier than ever.

Keep Important Messages Front and Center
Musicians can now pin specific messages to the top of any 1:1 or group chat, making it easier to stay organized, coordinate with collaborators, or highlight key conversations with fans.
Whether it’s locking in studio session details, keeping track of a setlist, or saving an important piece of feedback, pinning messages ensures quick access to what matters most. To pin a message, image, meme, or Reel, simply hold down on it and tap “pin.” Need to update your pins? Just hold down on a message and tap “unpin.” With up to three pinned messages per chat, staying on top of important discussions has never been easier.

Easily Invite Collaborators and Fans to Group Chats with a QR Code
Adding new members to a group chat is now simpler than ever for musicians. Each group chat now has a personalized QR code, making it easy to connect with collaborators, team members, or even dedicated fans in just a scan.
Instead of manually searching for and adding each person, simply share the QR code for your group chat. Whether organizing a jam session, coordinating a tour crew, or keeping a fan community engaged, this feature makes communication seamless.
To generate a QR code invite, open the group chat, tap the group name at the top, select the invite link, and choose QR code. Share it in person, via DM, or save it to your camera roll. Group chat admins can refresh the QR code anytime, ensuring control over who joins the conversation.
