Multi-Platinum Indie Pop Singer & Songwriter Dayglow Reveals Fall 2024 Headline Run ‘Dayglow: The Tour’

Multi-Platinum Certified indie pop artist Dayglow announces his highly anticipated debut album, titled DAYGLOW, will be released this fall via Mercury Records. The album, which was fully written, performed, recorded, produced, and mixed by Sloan Struble himself in his Malibu home studio, will be accompanied by a headline tour across North America this fall, dubbed Dayglow: The Tour.

Produced by Live Nation and kicking off in September, Dayglow: The Tour will see Struble perform in major venues across the US, Canada, and Mexico, including Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium on September 22nd, New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom on October 11th, Toronto’s HISTORY on October 13th, Los Angeles’ Hollywood Palladium on November 17th, and more. Not to mention, the Austin, TX native will wrap the tour with three very special back-to-back hometown shows in various venues across the city. Fans can see Struble perform at Parish—the first Austin venue he ever played in—on November 21st, followed by shows at Scoot Inn on November 22nd and finally Stubb’s Waller Creek Amphitheater on November 23rd. See the full list of tour dates below.

On the upcoming tour, Struble says, “I think Dayglow has to be seen live to get the full picture. The vibe during the shows is so inviting and fun. People are either smiling or dancing, but it’s also common to do both. I think this tour is going to be the best yet by far. I feel healthy, happy, and ready to rock.”

Last month, the artist, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and all-around creative kicked off a new chapter with his latest single and summertime anthem “Every Little Thing I Say I Do.” The nostalgically catchy song recalls the best of the early 2010’s indie and alternative music scene yet remains uniquely Dayglow. It was released alongside a homemade music video, starring Struble and directed and edited by the innovator himself—watch it HERE. On the track, UPROXX proclaimed, “Dayglow described the song as ‘pretty damn catchy,’ which is probably what I should have written and left it at that,” while Ones To Watch said, “Its punchy guitar riffs and head-nodding hook set the perfect backdrop for the summer days ahead.” “Every Little Thing I Say I Do” continues to climb up the Alternative Radio Chart and is currently nearing the Top 30. Struble’s brand new single “Cocoon” will officially be released on July 21st—check out a recent teaser HERE and pre-save the song now HERE.

Over the last few years, Dayglow has emerged as a Multi-Platinum Certified artist, generating billions of streams across his mixtapes Fuzzybrain [2019], Harmony House [2021], and People In Motion [2022], while serving up viral hits including the Double Platinum “Can I Call You Tonight,” Platinum “Hot Rod,” and Gold “Close To You,” with the former becoming 2020’s biggest independent alternative hit and peaking at #2 at Alternative and AAA Radio.

Since bursting onto the scene, he’s sold out headline tours around the globe and graced festival stages including Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, Austin City Limits, Firefly Music Festival, Outside Lands, Reading & Leeds, Corona Capital, and more. His live performances have shined everywhere from The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and The Late Show With Stephen Colbert to Austin City Limits TV. Along the way, he picked up critical acclaim from Billboard, NPR, UPROXX, American Songwriter, NME, Euphoria Magazine, and Ones To Watch to name a few.

Over the last few years, Dayglow has cemented himself as an indie pop innovator with his vibrant, vivid, and memorable music. The Texas-native singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer (a.k.a. Sloan Struble) floods every song with uncontainable and undeniable energy. As such, he’s emerged as a Multi-Platinum Certified phenomenon, generating billions of streams across his mixtapes Fuzzybrain [2019], Harmony House [2021], and People In Motion [2022], while serving up viral hits including the Double Platinum “Can I Call You Tonight,” Platinum “Hot Rod,” and Gold “Close To You,” with the former being 2020’s biggest independent alternative hit and peaking at #2 at Alternative and AAA Radio. Ski Mask The Slump God Announces 11th Dimension Tour

Today, multiplatinum Florida spitter Ski Mask The Slump God announced his 2024 11th Dimension Tour. Produced by Live Nation, the 20-city North America leg kicks off on Wednesday July 10 at Akvarium in Budapest making stops in Brooklyn, Toronto, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Houston, and more before wrapping up in Perth on November 14. This will be his first headline run in 5 years. Close friends and collaborators DJ Scheme and Danny Towers will support him across all tour dates. While in North America, he will also be joined by emerging stars Hardrock and Molly Santana for support.

It also marks his first tour in support of his first full-length album in six years and one of 2024’s most anticipated hip-hop records, 11th Dimension, out now via Victor Victor Worldwide/Republic Records.

Renowned for his unmatched stage presence and high-energy shows, this promises to be an unforgettable jaunt as he ignites classics from the stage as well as new material from 11th Dimension. Ski Mask The Slump God always delivers undeniable, unique, and unforgettable shows, and he’s leveling up again on the 11th Dimension Tour.

Flipping the script with a middle finger to all expectations, Ski Mask The Slump God has consistently pushed himself to progress, taking hip-hop along with him. He blazed a trail of his own out of Broward County to his platinum-certified full-length debut, Stokeley, bowing in the Top 10 of the Billboard 200 in 2018. His elite lyricism, offbeat references, and distinct emotionality bled through the double-platinum “Faucet Failure” and platinum hits “Catch Me Outside,” “Take A Step Back,” “Nuketown,” “Babywipe,” and “Foot Fungus.” A sense of vicious versatility has enabled him to seamlessly collaborate with everyone from close cohort and gone-too-soon brothers XXXTentacion and Juice WRLD and J. Cole’s DreamVille to Lyrical Lemonade, Trippie Redd, Sxmpra, and Danny Towers. Beyond sharing the stage with $uicide Boy$ and the late Juice WRLD and XXXTentacion, he has emerged as a powerhouse headliner in his own right. Moreover, he incited the applause of Pitchfork, The FADER, UPROXX, and Complex, to name a few. After stacking up billions of streams, earning multi platinum plaques, and fueling the explosion of South Florida as a 21st century hip-hop mecca, Ski Mask The Slump God didn’t merely aim to make another album for his long-awaited sophomore offering. Instead, he chose to architect a living and breathing world with his second full-length LP, 11th Dimension [Victor Victor Worldwide/Republic Records]. Over the course of 21 tracks, that world finds the Florida spitter entrenched in layers of not only the mind-blowing rap he’s known for, but also alternative, heavy metal, and even Jamaican and island stylings. As such, it unfolds as not only a worthy successor to his legacy, but also as a harbinger of the future.

ABOUT SKI MASK THE SLUMP GOD

How to Begin a Successful Career in Hospitality

By Mitch Rice

The hospitality industry offers a wide range of exciting career opportunities, from hotel management and event planning to food and beverage services. If you are passionate about creating memorable experiences for guests and enjoy working in dynamic environments, a career in hospitality might be the perfect fit for you. Here’s a comprehensive guide to help you begin a successful career in the hospitality industry.

1. Understanding the Hospitality Industry

The hospitality industry is diverse and includes sectors such as hotels, restaurants, event planning, travel, and tourism. Understanding the various facets of the industry will help you identify which area aligns best with your interests and skills. For instance, if you enjoy organizing events and have strong attention to detail, event planning might be your ideal career path. If you are passionate about culinary arts, consider a career in food and beverage management. For example, those interested in leading kitchen operations should familiarize themselves with the job description for a kitchen manager, which includes responsibilities such as overseeing kitchen staff, managing inventory, and ensuring food quality and safety standards.

2. Educational Requirements and Training

While a degree is not always mandatory, having formal education in hospitality management or a related field can significantly enhance your career prospects. Many universities and colleges offer programs in hospitality management, culinary arts, and tourism. These programs provide a solid foundation in business management, marketing, finance, and customer service, which are essential skills in the hospitality industry.

Additionally, consider enrolling in certification programs that offer specialized training in areas such as hotel management, event planning, or restaurant operations. Certifications from recognized institutions can make you stand out to potential employers.

3. Gaining Relevant Experience

Experience is crucial in the hospitality industry. Internships, part-time jobs, and volunteer opportunities are excellent ways to gain practical experience and build your resume. Look for entry-level positions such as front desk clerk, server, or event coordinator assistant. These roles will give you hands-on experience in customer service, teamwork, and problem-solving.

Working in different areas of the industry can also provide valuable insights into how various departments operate. For example, starting in food and beverage services can help you understand the complexities of restaurant management, which can be beneficial if you aspire to become a hotel manager.

4. Developing Essential Skills

The hospitality industry demands a unique set of skills to ensure success. Here are some key skills to focus on:

  • Customer Service: Providing exceptional service is at the heart of the hospitality industry. Develop strong communication skills, empathy, and a proactive approach to resolving guest issues.
  • Teamwork: Hospitality operations rely heavily on teamwork. Learn to collaborate effectively with colleagues and build strong working relationships.
  • Attention to Detail: Whether it’s setting up a banquet hall or checking a guest into a hotel room, attention to detail ensures a seamless guest experience.
  • Adaptability: The hospitality environment is fast-paced and ever-changing. Being adaptable and able to handle unexpected situations calmly is crucial.
  • Multitasking: Managing multiple tasks efficiently is a common requirement in hospitality roles. Practice balancing different responsibilities without compromising on quality.

5. Networking and Professional Associations

Networking plays a significant role in career advancement within the hospitality industry. Join professional associations such as the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA), the International Council on Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Education (ICHRIE), or local hospitality organizations. These associations offer networking events, conferences, and access to job boards, providing valuable opportunities to connect with industry professionals and potential employers.

Additionally, attend industry events, trade shows, and seminars to stay updated on the latest trends and developments in hospitality. Building a strong professional network can open doors to new job opportunities and career growth.

6. Creating a Strong Resume and Cover Letter

Your resume and cover letter are often the first impression you make on potential employers. Tailor your resume to highlight relevant experience, skills, and achievements. Use action verbs and quantify accomplishments whenever possible, such as “Increased guest satisfaction scores by 15% through implementing a new customer feedback system.”

In your cover letter, express your passion for the hospitality industry and explain why you are a good fit for the specific role and company. Research the company’s values and mission to demonstrate your alignment with their goals.

7. Preparing for Interviews

Interviews in the hospitality industry often focus on customer service skills, problem-solving abilities, and cultural fit. Prepare for common interview questions such as:

  • “How would you handle a difficult guest?”
  • “Describe a time when you went above and beyond for a customer.”
  • “How do you prioritize tasks during a busy shift?”

Practice your responses to these questions, showcasing your skills and experience. Additionally, demonstrate your knowledge of the company and the specific role you are applying for.

8. Career Growth and Continuing Education

Once you’ve secured a position in the hospitality industry, focus on continuous improvement and professional development. Seek feedback from supervisors, take advantage of training opportunities, and consider pursuing advanced certifications or degrees.

Set career goals and work towards them systematically. For example, if you aspire to become a hotel manager, identify the skills and experience needed for that role and create a plan to acquire them. This might include gaining experience in different departments, taking leadership courses, or obtaining a master’s degree in hospitality management.

9. Staying Passionate and Resilient

A career in hospitality can be demanding, with long hours and high-pressure situations. Maintaining a positive attitude and staying passionate about your work is essential. Find ways to balance work and personal life to avoid burnout. Remember the reasons you chose a career in hospitality and focus on the rewarding aspects, such as creating memorable experiences for guests and working in a dynamic, ever-evolving industry.

Conclusion

Starting a successful career in hospitality requires a combination of education, experience, and a strong skill set. By understanding the industry, gaining relevant experience, developing essential skills, networking, and continuously improving, you can build a rewarding and thriving career in hospitality. Stay passionate, adaptable, and committed to providing exceptional service, and you will find success in this exciting industry.

My Next Read: “Why Tammy Wynette Matters” By Steacy Easton

With hits such as “Stand By Your Man” and “Golden Ring,” Tammy Wynette was an icon of American domesticity and femininity. But there were other sides to the first lady of country. Steacy Easton places the complications of Wynette’s music and her biography in sharp-edged relief, exploring how she made her sometimes-tumultuous life into her work, a transformation that was itself art.

Wynette created a persona of high femininity to match the themes she sang about-fawning devotion, redemption in heterosexual romance, the heartbreak of loneliness. Behind the scenes, her life was marked by persistent class anxieties; despite wealth and fame, she kept her beautician’s license. Easton argues that the struggle to meet expectations of southernness, womanhood, and southern womanhood, finds subtle expression in Wynette’s performance of “Apartment No. 9”-and it’s because of these vocal subtleties that it came to be called the saddest song ever written. Wynette similarly took on elements of camp and political critique in her artistry, demonstrating an underappreciated genius. Why Tammy Wynette Matters reveals a musician who doubled back on herself, her façade of earnestness cracked by a melodrama that weaponized femininity and upended feminist expectations, while scoring twenty number-one hits.
