What Happens When You Sing During An MRI
Normally, you have to stay absolutely still during an MRI, but researchers wanted to try a new technique that is 10-times faster than standard MRI scanners to illustrate how the hundreds of muscles in our neck, jaw, tongue, and lips work together to produce sound. The overall goal of the research is to see if singing in a group chorus can help people in retirement homes build stronger voices. Sounds like a worthy endeavor to me!

Video: Pitcher Throws Glove To First Base After Ball Gets Stuck
Chicago Cubs pitcher Jon Lester got a little creative when a baseball became stuck in his glove during Sunday’s MLB game against the San Diego Padres. To get the out, he threw the entire glove to first baseman Anthony Rizzo, who dropped his own glove and made the catch.
And to top it all off, just look how cool Lester is afterwards, like this is a daily happening in his life. Amazing.
R2-D2 Brightens Up Little Boy In A Wheelchair At Star Wars Celebration
If only all human celebrities would take a few moments out of their day to do what R2-D2 did this past weekend. My fave droid was a special guest at the Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim, California, and while taking a break from all the madness, R2-D2 took time out of his busy schedule to play with a little boy at the Anaheim Convention Center.

Guy Secretly Records Strangers at Guitar Center, Then Puts Out An Album
Noah Wall did something I’ve never thought about doing, even though I’ve been in music instrument stores hundreds of times – He went to the Manhattan Guitar Center and quietly recorded strangers banging on drums, singing, testing the keyboards. Kind of like Moses Ash when starting up his Folkways label, right? Not exactly. He then made the recordings into an album. It’s called Live at Guitar Center and it’s below for you to check out. Fair warning – it’s completely unlistenable more than once. And that’s if you get past a few minutes.

March 27, 2015. It’s about 3 on Friday. School’s out and people are headed to Guitar Center Manhattan. I’m going there to do some field recording. A block away, I put on a pair of microphones you might find in a spy catalog. They look like earbud headphones but are actually binaural (stereo) mic’s that go in each ear. No one suspects I’m recording them – more like listening to music or something…
