But it’s not just about the music. The series also shares historical presentations and, from proceeds, donates funds to a designated community service nonprofit organization.

The celebration begins Friday, September 6th, with the Jazz Caliente Con Corazon (Hot Jazz with Heart) Concert and VIP Red Dress Reception at Langston Hughes Performing Arts Center. Music performances feature Eduardo Mendonça, Jovino Santos Neto Quarteto, Eugenie Jones, Alex Dugdale FADE Quarter, and guitarist Frank Kohn.

“The reason I decided to re-release and remix ‘I Should Have Known’ is because it was always a favourite of mine,” says Lennon. “I loved the way the new album [‘Jude’] sounded in particular. (…) I thought maybe Mark ‘Spike’ Stent will remix this for me and give it a new life. I want it to breathe life into the world again.”

Alongside the release, Lennon appears in a music video for the first time in over a decade for an original song, under the direction of Anna Makovchik, capturing his soul’s journey in a calm and peaceful environment. Born in Liverpool, England, Julian Lennon began his artistic trajectory at a young age with an inherent gift for playing musical instruments.
